Cooperativa de Crédito para O Desenvolvimento Rural (CCDR), a savings and loan mutual association managed by women, was created by AMRU in 1998.
AMRU is an association created in Mozambique in 1992 by rural women wishing to work with/for other rural women. Its activities initially were of socio-economic nature.
In addition to its purely financial activities, at the request of women, CCDR also works on elimination of illiteracy and does basic training on family economy.
