BANSEFI is an instrument by which the Government of Mexico looks for the promotion of savings in the population strata that are covered by commercial banks. In addition, it seeks to promote and coordinate the transformation of the semi-formal financial sector.
Thanks to the spread of its branch network, BANSEFI helps to distribute the resources granted by the government, through social programs, to the most needing populations. The business areas of the bank, by order of importance are: (i) Mobilisation (saving accounts), (ii) Program payments of the Government, (iii) Remittances and (iv) Payment and delivery of “Billetes de Depósito” (BIDES).
